TVB Eye in the Sky Episode Thoughts (Episode 4)

Quite a lot of things revealed in this episode. Anyway a recap of what happened:

Back to the scene where Jenny and and Sitou Sir finally meet again. Sitou Sir nagged her and asked if he can talk to her but Jenny said, "I don't know you. Go away!" In the hotel room Detective George asked who is he.

Pause. Turns out Detective George forgot Sitou Sir already?

Continue. Anyway Detective George, Agatha and Jenny moved on to talk about their "operation". Detective George ordered Agatha to sneakily go in the cheating wife's hotel room before she comes back and install a spy camera (that was big). Of course Agatha complained how can she install it when the camera itself looks so big and obvious and Detective George went, "Go use your brain".

Pause. Detective George is a funny person but he is also an unreasonable and a biased person. He would rather let Agatha do the operation than Jenny do it simply because Jenny is his daughter and he doesn't want Jenny to be unsafe. A likeable father but an unlikeable boss.

Continue. Agatha tries to go in and the cheating wife opens the door. Agatha was shocked and said, "Why are you here?" and the wife replied, "Why can't I come earlier?" Plan A failed and on her way back Agatha meets Terry (the guy who flirted with her earlier). Agatha tried to avoid Terry but Terry nevertheless approached her and said, "Ohh last time you said we will see each other again, so this is what you meant (thinking that she works there)." Agatha obviously wanted to tell the truth but couldn't.

With Plan A gone they went for Plan B, that is to go to the neighbouring hotel room and record the voices of the wife "steal eating". Agatha went to the room and before she could do anything the Caucasian hotel guest comes in and locks the balcony door (meaning Agatha can't get out). The hotel guests popped on his headphone and went for a shower so he couldn't hear Agatha.

Detective George received the call from Agatha and told her to just stay there. Therefore Plan C. They look outside the room through a spy camera inside the room and they saw the suspected man meeting the cheating wife. This time Detective George said, "Action time for me" and rings the bell on their hotel room. The man opens the time and asked "Who are you?" Detective George pulled out his old trick of "Police here. I need to go inside". Obviously the guy didn't believe him and looked at his fake I.D and punches him on the eye.

Pause. What a silly detective agency with silly employees. Nobody seems to be competent.

Continue. With Plan A, B and C all failed, Jenny follows the man. Sitou Sir with his phone that can view all the CCTVs saw Jenny trying to follow the man and follows Jenny. Jenny lost track of the man and Sitou Sir uses logic and his observational skills to track the man to the fish market nearby. Jenny goes into the fish market and takes photos of the three men.

Pause. Kevin Cheng is consistently good in his performance. His character is also consistently serious where all he needs is logic to find out things. I could see his desperation for clues about the arson case and shows from his facial expressions.

Seeing the photos of the three men that they suspect to be sleeping with the cheating wife, the husband gets angry in the detective agency and grabbed the hotel room key and knife from Detective George. Detective George then went, "Hey come back! I need to talk to you about the surcharges!" The husband was ready to kill the three men. Yes kill.

He came rushing to the hotel and went inside. It was all a misunderstanding where the wife was literally "steal eating" not cheating. She hired the guy to prepare and cook food for her. Husband said sorry and happy ever after...

Everyone meets the owner of the hotel room and he was intrigued by what happened. "It is our honour for a couple to clarify their misunderstanding. They shall not only not need to pay for the damages but we will host a poolside party to celebrate!"

This poolside party opens the opportunity for everyone to meet everyone basically. Denise, no Madam Chik comes to the poolside party to meet her auntie (portrayed by Susan Tse) who gives her the cold shoulder. The reason why the auntie didn't like her was because Madam Chik's parents criticised her literacy pieces. The owner of the hotel along with Nik comes over to talk to auntie and finds out that she can indeed swim. That being said, she went and swam.

Pause. I never knew Susan Tse was a good swimmer so that was a nice to know. What is not nice to know though is however how the scriptwriters make everyone know each other for convenience sake.

Continue. We finally got to know that Agatha was let out and she has an argument with Detective George. Agatha was done with Detective George and she quit and left. Next minute Sitou Sir approaches Jenny and nags her again for what happened 18 months ago. Jenny pulls him away and Sitou Sir jumps to the water with Jenny. Jenny got to see Sitou Sir's arm and noticed that the scar was not there, therefore meaning the guy she had sex with was not Sitou Sir.

Nik thought of two possible explanations. One is that the fake Sitou Sir was just someone who looked like him but wasn't. The second one was that it must have been his twin brother that Sitou Sir was not aware of. Sitou Sir said the likelihood of first theory is basically zero so must be twin brother. They think of a plan to get his parents to tell him if he has a twin brother.

Nik also asks Sitou Sir if he can suddenly feel pain in his body and said it might be because his twin brother is experiencing pain. Sitou Sir confessed that he does sometimes feel pains in his arm (probably when the fake Sitou Sir got a cut in his arm) and sometimes headaches. Later on we have two separate scenes of Nik and Sitou Sir having headaches and from then it was confirmed that Nik is indeed the twin brother.

Pause. Ok let's assume Nik is indeed the twin brother. Why how did his sound suddenly change to a different one? Voice surgery? How come he is now taller all of a sudden. Physically he doesn't convince me as the twin brother of Sitou even with plastic surgery excuse. Ignoring all of these though, why did Nik not tell Sitou that he is the twin brother. He knew the whole time and just observed. I am now curious as to what Nik is really up to and what did he do in the last 18 months and why did he make a fire and just left, leaving all the trouble for Sitou Sir when he would of know he would of potentially gone into jail. Why did he tell Jenny that he was a policeman? That implies Nik knew Sitou Sir's existence and that deliberately used his identity as a policeman. Do you remember he said before to Jenny, "I am letting you investigate this because it's not convenient for the CIB to do it". That means he even knew Sitou Sir is in the CIB department. Why Nik, why???

We will find out soon.

Continue. Nik went to Sitou Sir's house to have dinner with them and asks Sitou's parents (also his parents) if they knew his birth details. They give him Sitou's details and then Nik guided them to talk about a possible twin brother and the mother cried. The parents finally let out the truth and said that the twin brother died. They were in so much sorrow that they decided to keep the secret from Sitou Sir.

Sitou Sir knew that the twin brother was still alive so he thought about visiting the mid-wife. Along with Nik they tried to find her and eventually just bumped into her. (How convenient again). Mid-wife tried to avoid Jenny, Sitou and Nik but she was stopped by them and then eventually confessed that she sold the twin brother away to another person and showed Sitou's mom another dead baby. She cried and said, "I regret it to this day. I should have never sold your twin brother to someone." The camera shows Nik's face who is looking quite angry and pissed off but not in an obvious way.

End. I am liking this series at the moment but for some reason I am not addicted to this series as I thought I would be. All of my HK friends have told me they are loving this series but for some reason I am not. Ruco, Kevin and Tavia are all doing fine but maybe it's the story that is not appealing to me at the moment. I didn't get the lame misunderstanding between the wife and husband. I am still disappointed that Tavia doesn't have much to do in the series. This series lacks cohesiveness and cohesion and the only thing that is keeping me interested and anticipated is Ruco and Kevin reuniting.

Will probably talk more when I get to see episode 5.
