TVB Eye in the Sky Episode Thoughts (Episode 11,12)

Episode 11:

Start. Back to the scene where Szeto was interrogating Terry and then Nik rushes in.

I will repeat what Nik said:

"Leave Terry alone, it's got nothing to do with him. I am your twin brother".

Pause. Kevin Cheng was impressive again with his expressions. He gave the "what the hell" look, then his eyes were examining Nik's face and body, going, "no way, this can't be true. We don't even look alike". He gave the reaction that every shocked brother would.

Continue. Anyway Szeto asks why didn't he tell him before and Nik said that it was because he knows Szeto is a righteous person and like what he did to his old classmate, he would arrest Nik for committing a crime. Before Nik could say any more Terry urges to take him back to the hospital where he is still in pain of course.

Pause. I've come to the conclusion now that Nik's character is someone who is somewhat insecured and it's realistic. Even though his been with Shun and the family for a while he doesn't know how they would react knowing his their son/brother and a son/brother who committed crime and took plastic surgery.

In the hospital Szeto's parents come and Szeto go, "Hey mum and dad, I've found little brother".
Szeto's parents go, "What are you on about? Your little brother died ages ago. Don't mention about this anymore!" Szeto explained that what happened and teary mum and dad now know everything.

Pause. They did look surprised but I would say short from shocked or astounded. It was like, "Ohhh really!" rather than "What the hell? This is crazy. I need time to accept this fact!" sort of reaction.

Continue. Nik notices that Shun appears to be cold and not smiling even though he's finally found his little brother. Nik goes to Shun what's wrong and Shun said,

"I am still suspicious about you. Why are you following Hon Sheng. What is your intention of spying her?"

Nik basically explains about how he suspected she was the one who caused his face to be badly burned and he wants to find the truth.

There was a line that I particularly sounds true:

"Shun, you have not experienced what I have experienced. You will never be able to understand all the pain that I went through and the fear from seeing the surgeons slicing my skin here and there. You will not understand what it feels to look in the mirror and see a stranger's face."

Yes guilt trip him and Shun obviously felt bad.

"Listen to me. I am sorry as well. I placed a spy cam in your room. We are brothers and we shouldn't be mistrusting each other. As long as you don't commit crime along we will always be bros."

Doesn't seem like Nik will stop committing crime though.

Anyway Shun's parents now pay special attention to Nik. They buy him everything and tell him to ask for whatever and they will get it for him to repay what he missed out in his childhood, etc. They even offer Nik to sleep in the same room as Shun now. Shun obviously didn't mind.

Nik comes back to the room after taking a shower and sees Shun spying on Hon Sheng.

Pause. I'm pretty sure Shun is off-duty now given that he is in his room now. Isn't he being unethical or committing a crime or invading other people's privacy? I'm just being petty here but the irony is there.

Continue. Nik comes to a cafe with Terry and they are now worried that if Shun finds out more about Hon Sheng he will eventually find out about their major crime, which is tre-passing and thief of a jewllery worth 5 billion dollars.

Thus, Nik tells Shun no need to follow Hon Sheng and Shun goes fine.

With Hon Sheng aside, Nik now intends to date Jenny who he made love with. Nik takes Jenny to a beach at night and takes photos with special effects.

Pause. That was a good light-hearted moment but I know it wouldn't last. Jenny would eventually find out that Nik likes her and she doesn't like Nik because Nik does not look like the Shun she made love with and imagined in her memories despite it is indeed the Szeto she met. How silly anyway.

Continue. What was more silly though was when Nik was dreaming about Jenny dressed up as an angel and smiling, Shun was too - (because they are twin brothers and they can dream the same thing due to the special connection). Shun noticed that this dream was what Nik was imagining and from then he knew that Nik was in love with Jenny who he started to like.

Pause. If Shun and Nik share similar dreams and share the pain they endure, how come Shun didn't have nightmares of getting plastic surgery, or feel constant pain on his nose, chin and face in general from all those operations? And how about having dreams of living a rough life? How irony yet Shun could see Nik's dreams of Jenny as an angel but not Nik's past experiences that were probably more memorable and unforgettable. Silly I say.

In the meanwhile, the hotel guest portrayed by Susan Tse could hear creepy wailing sounds resembling of a baby crying (that's pretty scary I say) and she complains to the manager who approaches her and said she's the only one who could hear it. The hotel manager suspects that Susan didn't get enough sleep and Susan said, "What. You saying I am a maniac?" The hotel manager didn't mean that but she was busy so she left not believing whatever Susan said.

Poor Susan.

Continue. If we rewind back to the scene where Nik and Terry were in the cafe. They actually decided to put false rumours of Hon Sheng having the jewellery so Mr.Pittman and the gang would target her instead of Shun and thus they will have a fight themselves.

Subsequently, Hon Sheng received a call from Mr.Pittman and the gang to meet up. She arrives dressed in cool clothes.

One of them said, "Did you bring what I wanted?"

HS: "No".

"Two years ago I ordered the jewellery."

HS: "You can only blame yourself for taking a wrong order".

"How dare you"

They have a fight and Hon Sheng mystically takes out all four of them and holds the guy.

HS: "Tell me, why did you try and catch the security guard last time?"

"He's not a security guard. He's a big thief who stole my jewellery. Weeks ago I saw him again so we decided to get him."

All of a sudden, someone shots Hon Sheng's gun off her hand. Armless, the white guy takes control of her and grunts, "Give me the jewellery or die".

"Kill me. Even if you kill me you won't get the jewellery."

Just when he was about to shoot her a mysterious guy from the background shoot both of the guys dead. Hon Sheng looked around and saw him and grasped, "Boss!"

The episode ends showing the mysterious man whose face was dimmed. End.

Suspenseful ending I say. My favourite parts of this episode was of course Nik reunioning with Shun and the Szeto family and then the end. There are several questions viewers are probably asking now:

"Who is boss?" - I suspect it is the hotel boss but his blind.
"So then if it is the hotel boss he is really blind or just pretending to be blind?" - No idea.

One thing that I am not getting is why didn't Hon Sheng recognise Shun's face as the thief back in Manilla? Surely she would of seen a glimpse of his face or recognise Shun's voice (the Kevin Cheng voice) when he yelled, "let's go".

I am liking this series more and more now because of the impressive performances by both Ruco and Kevin, only to be dragged down by Jenny's rather pointless character and the wannabe smart and clever storyline when it is sometimes rather silly, inconsistent and illogical.

Episode 12:

I frankly don't have much to comment about this episode as I am not interested about the Nik-Jenny-Shun love triangle which basically consumed a large proportion of this episode.

The only thing I wanted to comment on was why the hell did the hotel boss come downstairs to Hon Sheng's room????? Wouldn't Hon Sheng warn the hotel boss about Susan Tse who has access to her room?

Poor Madam Chik who is now the one framed for killing her auntie.

After watching episode 12, my thoughts about this series is pretty much still the same.

TVB Eye in the Sky Episode Thoughts (Episode 7,8,9,10)

In order to catch up with my episode thoughts I have decided to cram these four episodes into one post and it will be as succinct as possible.
Episode 7.

So back to the scene where the hotel boss arrives at his room and looks at Terry directly! He goes, "Who's is it?" and it was Miss Zhu who was trying to vacuum his room. He tells her "No need I am a bit tired now you can clean tomorrow" and then Miss Zhu walks off but then the hotel boss could hear her heavy steps and she explains, "Oh it was because I am hearing high heels and I went to the 'Meeting you in the dark' event'. Hotel boss replies, "Oh that's good you went but did the guy who tried to flirt with you go as well? It's good to meet people but make sure that he is a good person. Last time just by hearing his voice I could already told that he's not a good bloke." Miss Zhu then went, "Of course. He has a flat nose, terrible smile and thinks his top stuff. Why the hell would I fall for him?"

Pause. Quite a funny moment after the climax. Tony again is effective with his expressions as "Really? What did you go?"

Continue. Anyway Terry urges Miss Zhu to not tell anyone about what happened and she goes, "Don't worry I don't want you to get into any trouble".

Poor Miss Zhu.

Terry then has a discussion with Nik back at the house. Nik now said there are three possibilities:
1. The diamond is not at the hotel
2. The diamond is at the hotel but don't know where it is
3. The diamond is at the hotel but don't know where it is on the hands of who

Terry visits Agatha's detective agency and tries to flirt back with her. Nothing much to comment from here so I shall digress. Jenny tries to follow the daughter and follows her all the way to her residence. Jenny got stopped by the security guard and she said she was looking for her dog when in fact she was looking at where the daughter was living. Jenny reports this back to Agatha and Agatha urges Jenny to investigate more first before telling the mom.

The episode moves on with a scene of a car driving by and detecting the dead body of a young lady. It turns out she was badly tortured and malnourished. Madam Wong a.k.a Scarlett a.k.a Lin Xia Wei tries to get advice from Szeto Shun as to how to solve the case and Shun gives her a few tips and she eventually finds out the identity of the dead girl.

In the meanwhile Madam Wong visits Szeto Shun as a plan to get Madam Chik to convince him to return back to the police force. Madam Wong pleads, "Please Szeto, come back. We really need you. It is such as pity for a talent like you to not be a policeman." Szeto Shun of course said, "I will not return until the day I retrieve my innocence".

Anyway Jenny follows the daughter again and it turns out her boyfriend cheated on her. Later on the daughter tells Jenny to get lost and stop following her. Jenny tells Szeto that the daughter is nowhere to be seen and they suspect she was kidnapped by someone.

Jenny visits the plan where you get an abortion and they didn't tell her much about what happened to the daughter. Jenny then notices that there's a CCTV near the cafe stall and a taxi woman approaches her and said that she drove the daughter to her destination and offered Jenny a lift to the place.

Meanwhile, Szeto and Scarlett were visiting a place where they suspect it was the guy who killed the dead lady and it turns out it wasn't him. Szeto calls Jenny and asks her where is she and Jenny said she is with a taxi driver going to the daughter's place and the taxi woman tells her that she's there soon and Jenny ends the call...

Jenny goes in the place and she finds the daughter locked and badly hurt in the dark. Jenny switches on the lights and tries to cut the lock but as she was checking through the items she found a photo of the taxi woman and her daughter! (Meaning the taxi woman was the one who kidnapped the daughter) and immediately we see the taxi woman behind Jenny with a bat or whatever and it ends!

Another cliffhanger. A very exciting episode. My opinion about everyone's performances hasn't changed so kudos to everyone. The only thing is for maybe Jenny to look more shocked when she saw the photo. In all honesty I would of been shaking my legs with my jaw dropping and going, "Oh Shit!" but she didn't.

Episode 8:

The taxi woman hits Jenny and Jenny becomes unconscious. Szeto tries to call her but no answer from Jenny and he suspects that she is in danger. Szeto eventually finds out about the taxi woman and they go to her place. They meet the taxi woman and she tells him that they go find Jenny and the daughter themselves, whom are both going to die from starvation.

Szeto hears from the taxi woman, "Rain, rain, the more rain they more quickly they will die!" and then realises that Jenny and the daughter must be close near the house and he finds them. Happy ever after right?

The series moves on with the appearance of Vivien Yeo who potrays the a mysterious sexy looking girl. Fan Fate and the senior hotel manager gets wowed by her entrance and they realise from the staff members that she does yoga nude. Yes nude yoga. Fan Fate tries to deliver room service to her and the senior hotel manager gets punched out by her.

Nik and Terry now knows about Vivien Yeo who is 'Hong Shen' and they suspect that she was indeed the mysterious girl who shot fire at them back at Manila.

Anyway both Shun and Nik's birthday are soon and Nik wanted to celebrate his birthday with Shun and the family but they decide to have their own birthday dinner without Nik. Nik then calls Terry so he can hang out with him for birthday celebration but Terry was going to hang out with Fa (Agatha).

What about grandma?

Nik was celebrating by himself at home and he gets excited when he got a phone call from his dad and who asked him where he was and he said, "Oh just hanging out at home" and happily waits for daddy to invite him to dinner but he said back, "Oh that's good. Remember to record Mei Dek Ma's program for us." and Nik was highly disappointed.

Turns out they were giving a surprise birthday and Nik got moved by the three of them. Shun's parents then even told Nik to make him as their stepfather and stepmother and Nik becomes teary and touched. They then decide to take a family photo and Nik smiles happily.

Pause. A very very very good acting moment by Ruco who again did a great job by looking moved. All he really used was his eyes and facial expressions and that was enough to show his emotions.

Continue. Nik happily visits Terry and tells him about his happy day and then asks, "Where's my birthday present now".

Serious music is on and we see Hor Yee Gu (the former midwife who sold Nik) and she got a phone call that her son was arrested but in the police station she wasn't and then she got scolded by her son. Hor Yee Gu looked upset and heartbroken when her son told her to not call her again and hanged up. What was more heartbreaking was when she returned home and Terry whose face was covered ran away with all her money and threw all the cash down. Hor Yee Gu runs over in distress and she loses all the money with the homeless people taking it.

Ruco watches looking satisfied.

End. What a contrast. From Nik being happy and acting like a child to being cruel and acting like a person who is filled with hatred. Whilst I don't pity Hor Yee Gu for what she's done I don't agree with Nik. She was basically living a rough life now and Nik really wanted her to have no money, homeless and no support at all. You may say that she deserved it but it just shows Nik is someone who doesn't like to move on. He already got his wish to sort of reunite with his family again and everything would have been happy ever after if only he stopped but he has no intent of doing so.

As for Episode 9, I don't have much to recap or comment since I can't remember much about this episode except for the last part where:

The hotel boss invited Hon Sheng for a dinner to apologise for the senior manager who was trying to perve at her and she walks out of her room. This gives an opportunity for Nik to sneak into her room. Meanwhile Szeto calls Nik to ask him where he is and to remind him to go to his place later and Nik lied that he was patrolling the swimming pool when indeed he was at Hon Sheng's room.

Szeto becomes suspicious with Nik and we see Szeto installing a spy cam at Nik's room. He looks at the monitor and Nik's was on his phone that was buffering and Szeto was eager to find out what he was trying to load...

Not much to comment except finally some progression with the story and how impressive Kevin Cheng is as Szeto. Will explain more later on.

Episode 10.

Szeto was spying on Nik to see what he was doing and Nik was only viewing a game. Nik is not dumb and he knows that Szeto knows.

Nik plays dumb on the coming days where he just exercises with Szeto spying on him the whole time until he got tired of doing so and stopped spying on him.

What more do I remember? Susan Tse was having a discussion with Nik and she was curious about how come Hon Sheng was so mysterious. Nik promises to help Susan and he follows Hon Sheng at the mall who  changed clothes as someone else. Nik got Susan to come to the scene and made Hon Sheng realise that Susan was following her only and then left.

Nik goes back to the hotel and notices three mysterious dark skinned men who was following Szeto. They followed Szeto who was on his way to go to a dinner date with Jenny. The three men trap Szeto and say, "Don't move!!!". At the trash site Szeto says, "I am not the person you are looking for" (obviously they are looking for Nik when he looked like Szeto. Nik comes to the rescue and they manage to escape with Terry.

One special moment to take notice of was when Nik got shot in the arm Szeto could feel it as well and he got an expression of, "Why am I feeling this as well. Why is this happening?!?!" and Kevin Cheng proves how he does having acting chops.

Szeto knows that Terry knows Nik and he follows Terry to his place and then tells grandma to stay at her room while she talks to Terry. Jenny who was at the cinema tried to call Szeto but no reply. Tavia did well in the sense he was becoming worried, disappointed, feeling hopeless, waiting anxiously and just in a low mood... Szeto tried to interrogate Terry and then it Nik came running and went,

"Leave Terry alone. This has got nothing to do with her.

Yes I am not called Nik. I am called Cheung Gok Fai. I am your biological twin brother."

and Szeto looks shocked, speechless and trying to grasp what he just heard.

End.

I am liking this series now as it is becoming more entertaining to watch. I'll let you guys know more what about I have to say about this series once I get to watch Episode 11 and see what happens!

TVB Eye in the Sky Episode Thoughts (Episode 6)

I am finally back with my recaps! After a busy weekend with a conference trip and now I have to catch up with uni, I am seriously exhausted but there's a lot of things I want to comment about this series so here we go:
Note: I will refer to Kevin Cheng's character as Szeto Shun and Ruco Chan's character as Nik. In the series Tavia Yeung is called 'Jan' but I'll refer to her as 'Jenny' because it suits her Chinese name better.

Episode 6.

Back to the scene where Terry, Nik and grandma go 'phew'. Nik has a headache and Terry grabs him ice water. "I'm terribly sorry. If only I knew that she was the gangster's girlfriend I wouldn't have touched her".

A bit too late to say that now.

Nik dives his head to the bucket and we get flashbacks to when Nik didn't have plastic surgery yet. Flashbacks show the scene when the fake Szeto Sir (a.k.a Nik) committed arson. The people from that unit rush out of the place and Nik goes inside to rescue Terry whose legs were badly beaten.

They manage to escape and head towards Manilla, Indonesia. They now want to steal a very precious jewellery worth five billion dollars and it jumps to the scene where they manage to steal the jewellery even with fires of bullets behind them.

Well, they didn't become billionaires for long as a mysterious person shoots towards their car and they to leave.  They try to run away except the mysterious figure shoots the car and it explodes, and a flare lands on Nik's face!

90% of Nik's face is badly burned and it took twenty operations before he got the Ruco face.

Pause. Even with plastic surgery this doesn't explain why Nik's voice suddenly changed. The answer is obviously because Ruco's voice is different to Kevin's. One may ask why can't you just dub Ruco's voice to when Kevin was acting the fake Szeto and I agree they could of dubbed his voice but that would mean we would know that Ruco was the twin brother from the first minute. Anyway I don't care about this anymore so let's move on.

Continue. Flashbacks gone and now they explain why they are staying at the hotel now. They heard news that the jewellery was located at the hotel boss's place and while they were taking photos of the hotel they see Szeto Shun. Frankly I didn't think Ruco looked shocked enough and neither did the script do better. Wouldn't Nik know about Szeto's existence with news of Szeto's trial on the press or news or whatever? This didn't make much sense, especially when Jenny was talking to Nik about his experience as a policeman and Nik should of found it weird how Jenny thought he was someone.

Anyway Nik was deliberately trying to meet Szeto Shun (the scene in the shopping mall) where he tried to chase a creepy guy trying to film a girl. Nik also deliberately ate in the same place as Shun and as Shun went to pay he would of taken a sample of his germs by wiping his chopsticks to a tissue. He would also deliberately pretend he badly needs to go to the toilet when in fact he wanted to go to his house and get a sample of a hair from the bathroom. Nik takes these samples to the doctor and tests prove that they are indeed biological twin brothers.

Hong Kong must have hardly any hotels for Nik to target a hotel where Shun was working.

Moving on Nik visits Shun's house and he now becomes close with his parents who of course don't know Nik is their son. Nik looks at a photo of Shun as a policeman and Shun's parents talk about how he was born to be a policeman but what a pity he is not a policeman now.

Pause. Ruco did well by looking like he looks sorry for how he's caused all this trouble to Szeto from the arson case.

Continue. Shun's parents then talk about how Shun's life was outstanding and how he outshined people. Ruco thought back about the memories of how his adopted parents passed away and he lived a rough life by himself until he meet Terry. Shun's parents see him looking teary and go "Sorry we forgot your childhood was an orphan in the welfare centre". They try to make Nik happy again by inviting him for a game of Wii and they play tennis til midnight.

Nik looks at his watch and goes, "Late now, need to head back home now" but they urge him to stay and offer him to sleepover the house. Nik happily accepts their offer and at midnight Nik holds the Szeto family photo and goes, "I hope one day I will eventually get to reunite with you all".

Pause. A short but nice scene that proves Ruco is masterful when it comes to expressing his emotions and thoughts without having to go overboard or exaggerate. If he consistently shows his fine acting I know one day he will get TV King (that's only if he gets a signature role that everyone likes).

Continue. The scene jumps to Jenny visiting the grand-opening of Agatha's detective agency and the promotion clip was indirectly insulting and criticising Detective George's method to investigate cases (I found that quite funny). Detective George was actually there and he tried to snatch Agatha's potential customer who wanted them to follow her daughter.

They make a deal that whoever gets to know about the daughter's mysterious agenda will win and both parties agree. Game on.

Szeto visits Jenny and recommends her to venture out somewhere to make good use of her photographic memory and Agatha says so as well. Detective George heard them and tells Jenny "Fine leave my detective agency and you work for Agatha." Jenny of course goes "No I want to be with you daddy".

Pause. I like how Jenny is a fillal daughter who wants to stick to her daddy no matter what and I know Daddy George deliberately did that so Jenny can enhance her career.

Continue. Back to some serious stuff and in the hotel they host a social event known as "Meeting you in the dark". The hotel boss had to go to a charity event that night so he told the security guards to take care of the event. Nik visits Terry's room and tells him that this is the best opportunity to sneak into the "blind man's" room to find the precious jewellery.

Terry tries to flirt with Miss Zhu who basically tried to resist his flirtation but eventually got charmed by all those compliments and walks away secretly smiling and decides to attend the "Meeting you in the dark" social event.

Szeto and Nik was trying to investigate a cigarette smell in a room and they got locked out by Fan Fate and the hotel manager. The two of them (Fan Fate and hotel manager) activate their so-called materplan to lock Shun and Nik out so that when something goes wrong in the social event they can blame them for not being there and thus get fired.

Their plan obviously didn't work as Nik knows how to open doors using a wire (useful when he was a thief). Terry and the Miss Zhu have a dinner date and Nik tells him to hurry up and get her drunk. Terry asked if she likes the hotel boss's bed and she said yes it's very comfortable and so Terry takes her to the hotel room. Nik tries to distract everyone by giving him tasks and keep their eyes off the Eye in the Sky (CCTV) and manipulates the cameras by trimming the time Terry took her to the room. Terry manages to get inside the room and was trying to hack into the safe. Suddenly, the hotel boss arrived at the hotel since the charity event finished early. Nik tried to hog time by reporting the hotel boss about the incident in the hotel but the girl hotel worker said she already reported the incident to the hotel boss. The hotel boss subsequently got back into his room and he was directly facing Terry!

End. Nice cliffhanger.

Everyone did well so kudos to everyone but Tony Hung got some screentime during the last scene where he displayed some decent acting. His flirting scenes were convincing, his panicking seemed real when the hotel boss was arriving. Tony can sure act and I think he is doing a good job with a supporting role.

I am still buttsore as to how Tavia's role is now a boring fillal daughter even though she is doing ok. Ruco and Kevin are still the highlights of this show.

This series is now like still enjoyable and entertaining to watch but the storyline and sequence of events has all been too convenient that makes it look unrealistic and half-baked. Am still tempted to watch the rest of this series though.

Eye in the Sky Episode Thoughts Update

Update: I have been very very very busy lately with the start of college and all these social events and lectures and seminars and tutorials and TVB! I am up to date with the episodes except I don't have much time to do episode thoughts for now and plus I will be away from home all until Monday. So I will try to get my episode thoughts back on track by Monday. Stay tuned!

Brief comments at the moment: Tavia's character is a disappointment, Ruco's character is intriguing and three-dimensional, whilst Kevin's character is also interesting! Even though the plot pales in comparison compared to the others series I've seen last year like BHWS, ROE, NDA, etc, acting-wise everyone is doing fine. Plenty to comment soon.

TVB Eye in the Sky Episode Thoughts (Episode 5)

Finally it's confirmed that Nik is indeed the biological twin brother of Sitou. I am still enjoying this series so far.

I didn't remember much from this episode so I will give a rather short recap:

First we have Law Lan (who portrays the Hor Yee Gu: the mid-wife for baby Nik and baby Situ). Hor Yee Gu confessed that she swapped Nik with a dead baby and sold Nik to a couple whose baby had died. Hor Yee Gu however says she is getting karma where her family do not care about her and she has to depend on collecting boxes for a living.

Pause. I liked this scene. You could tell in here Ruco sounded angry (when he should) after knowing he was sold to someone for money. It was realistic how Nik did not have any sympathy for Hor Yee Gu even though she lives a rough life now because she cannot repay and will never be able to repay her one selfish mistake.

Continue. Now it's confirmed that Sitou's twin brother is still alive, in which Sitou and Jenny are desperate to look for him.

Pause. How irony that they are trying so hard to find him when Nik is in fact the only and he was with them the whole time. This reminds me of a quote, "远在“天”边,近在“眼"前”, where it essentially means whilst it seems like something is as far away as the sky, the thing is really in front of your eye, thus perfectly fitting the title Eye in the Sky. However with Sitou's character as someone who thinks outside the box, smart, clever, observant and analytical, wouldn't he somehow can feel Nik is his twin brother or strange in his behaviour? Never mind.

Continue. Jenny, Sitou and Nik have lunch in those HK cafes and they watch the clip of the fake Sitou Sir walking away with a guy. That was of course Nik saving Terry who had an affair with a gangster's girlfriend. They come to the realisation that the fake Sitou is indeed a person with no malicious intent but just a person trying to save his buddy. This means that if only they find the buddy, Terry, then they will be able to locate Sitou's real twin brother.

Pause. I am beginning to get a bit tried with the long adventure to find the real twin brother when we already know who he is and why he saved Terry. I just hope that the story doesn't drag too long just to find Nik. To be serious, this series is only twenty episodes long and five episodes already gone without Sitou knowing yet. He better find out soon otherwise it would be silly for half of the series to focus on finding Nik's identity when viewers are omniscient of what happened.

Continue. Moving on, Nik was trying to pay for the bill and he noticed that his wallet was missing. Do they always make Nik pay? Jenny used her photographic memory to trace down the wallet and she said Nik left in on the counter of the other HK cafe. Sitou and Nik becomes suspicious as to how she can be so certain and Jenny replied, "My memory is like a video recorder. All I need to do is find my memory like searching for a file in a computer system and then I can remember all the small details. It's just like rewinding and playing videos."

Taking advantage of Jenny's miraculous memory skills, Sitou asks Jenny to recap in detail of her encounter with the fake Sitou. Jenny memorises the dialogue of the phone call Sitou was listening to and they hear in the background, "Please don't kill undie dragon" (that was the name literally).

I don't remember much of the rest of this episode except for the fact that Jenny had "undie dragon" wrong where it is supposed to be "rich pants dragon" or something like that. They trace down that name and go to a house where it was Terry's grandmother. Nik's stepgrandmother of course played dumb and said she hadn't seen the two for a long time.

Also in this episode there were funny moments. Terry tried to flirt with the hotel girl manager who looked stern and unamused but then when Terry said, "You hair feels so nice I can't leave" and she finally smiled. I suspect Terry was trying to know the security system and have a peek at the hotel boss's room so he may potentially break into his room and steal things?? Don't know.

Anyway there was another funny moment where Fate Fan and the hotel senior manager were caught smoking in the hotel trash site. Fate Fan swallowed the cigarette so they can't find evidence of him smoking but he still got punished to cease work and cease work pay for ten days. Funny when the hotel boss said, "You guys need to get a body check. If you guys do not listen to me I can always hire another senior manager". The senior manager who was the hotel boss's nephew begged him not to take his position away and said, "Don't take away my senior manager position! I don't know how to work in other positions."

Back to some more serious stuff, Sitou was helping Madam Wong with her case file where there were a lot of home break-ins lately in a particular neighbourhood. In the car ride with Madam Wong, Sitou noticed that there were a lot of campaign banners in the streets when the election was one month ago (see Sitou Sir should really be a police) and the banners were facing the opposite side of the houses, with spy cameras installed to know when a house owner has left the house. Sitou tells Madam Wong to "think outside the box next time" and Madam Wong reports the findings to Madam Chik who was reluctant to take action but did anyway.

With the police waiting for Terry to leave the house that he broke into at night time, Terry suddenly received a text from Nik telling him to take the back door since he knew the police were waiting for him. Madam Wong's co-workers complain about what is taking him so long and Madam Wong thinks about Sitou's advice to think outside the box and orders everyone to watch the back door. They caught Terry at the end but Nik comes to the rescue with a motorbike and they manage to escape.

Back at Terry's grandmother's house, Terry's grandmother urge him to stop committing crime so she can have a good night sleep.

Pause. This grandmother doesn't seem too bothered that Terry is committing crime. It's like she's fine with the two doing these illegal things as long as they don't get caught and think about stop doing illegal things for the future. Anyway Terry asked at the end, "Are you sure you are the real brother of Sitou" and Nik has a pondering expression. End.

Ruco Chan excels again in expressions. He is a very expressive actor without having to do big body movements or speak much. All he uses is his eyes and facial expressions and it is effective. I however don't like the scene when Ruco saw his real biological parents again at their house. I was expecting him to feel curious about his parent's life or the wanting to be family with them feeling or something but none of that, just normal chit-chat.

Kevin Cheng is again doing a decent job. He convinces me as someone feeling stressed and anxious to meet his twin brother and to find answers as to how the twin brother would just leave all the legal trouble to Sitou. I don't think I have ever liked Kevin Cheng's performance before like this so kudos to Kevin.

Tavia Yeung has nothing much to add to the overall story apart from having good photographic memory skills which is starting to become repetitious and overused. Just go to the police academy already and help the CIB solve issues.

Why I don't like how this series is going so far is because I was hoping to see cases exploring the idea of CCTVs and whilst there are a lot of CCTVs in the hotels, I don't see how they are the central theme of the series. Which is why I am hoping this series to fasten up the pace a little bit and get Sitou back to the CIB so he can finally be Sitou Sir again. Hurry up!

Other than that my interest in this series hasn't died yet.

TVB Eye in the Sky Episode Thoughts (Episode 4)

Quite a lot of things revealed in this episode. Anyway a recap of what happened:

Back to the scene where Jenny and and Sitou Sir finally meet again. Sitou Sir nagged her and asked if he can talk to her but Jenny said, "I don't know you. Go away!" In the hotel room Detective George asked who is he.

Pause. Turns out Detective George forgot Sitou Sir already?

Continue. Anyway Detective George, Agatha and Jenny moved on to talk about their "operation". Detective George ordered Agatha to sneakily go in the cheating wife's hotel room before she comes back and install a spy camera (that was big). Of course Agatha complained how can she install it when the camera itself looks so big and obvious and Detective George went, "Go use your brain".

Pause. Detective George is a funny person but he is also an unreasonable and a biased person. He would rather let Agatha do the operation than Jenny do it simply because Jenny is his daughter and he doesn't want Jenny to be unsafe. A likeable father but an unlikeable boss.

Continue. Agatha tries to go in and the cheating wife opens the door. Agatha was shocked and said, "Why are you here?" and the wife replied, "Why can't I come earlier?" Plan A failed and on her way back Agatha meets Terry (the guy who flirted with her earlier). Agatha tried to avoid Terry but Terry nevertheless approached her and said, "Ohh last time you said we will see each other again, so this is what you meant (thinking that she works there)." Agatha obviously wanted to tell the truth but couldn't.

With Plan A gone they went for Plan B, that is to go to the neighbouring hotel room and record the voices of the wife "steal eating". Agatha went to the room and before she could do anything the Caucasian hotel guest comes in and locks the balcony door (meaning Agatha can't get out). The hotel guests popped on his headphone and went for a shower so he couldn't hear Agatha.

Detective George received the call from Agatha and told her to just stay there. Therefore Plan C. They look outside the room through a spy camera inside the room and they saw the suspected man meeting the cheating wife. This time Detective George said, "Action time for me" and rings the bell on their hotel room. The man opens the time and asked "Who are you?" Detective George pulled out his old trick of "Police here. I need to go inside". Obviously the guy didn't believe him and looked at his fake I.D and punches him on the eye.

Pause. What a silly detective agency with silly employees. Nobody seems to be competent.

Continue. With Plan A, B and C all failed, Jenny follows the man. Sitou Sir with his phone that can view all the CCTVs saw Jenny trying to follow the man and follows Jenny. Jenny lost track of the man and Sitou Sir uses logic and his observational skills to track the man to the fish market nearby. Jenny goes into the fish market and takes photos of the three men.

Pause. Kevin Cheng is consistently good in his performance. His character is also consistently serious where all he needs is logic to find out things. I could see his desperation for clues about the arson case and shows from his facial expressions.

Seeing the photos of the three men that they suspect to be sleeping with the cheating wife, the husband gets angry in the detective agency and grabbed the hotel room key and knife from Detective George. Detective George then went, "Hey come back! I need to talk to you about the surcharges!" The husband was ready to kill the three men. Yes kill.

He came rushing to the hotel and went inside. It was all a misunderstanding where the wife was literally "steal eating" not cheating. She hired the guy to prepare and cook food for her. Husband said sorry and happy ever after...

Everyone meets the owner of the hotel room and he was intrigued by what happened. "It is our honour for a couple to clarify their misunderstanding. They shall not only not need to pay for the damages but we will host a poolside party to celebrate!"

This poolside party opens the opportunity for everyone to meet everyone basically. Denise, no Madam Chik comes to the poolside party to meet her auntie (portrayed by Susan Tse) who gives her the cold shoulder. The reason why the auntie didn't like her was because Madam Chik's parents criticised her literacy pieces. The owner of the hotel along with Nik comes over to talk to auntie and finds out that she can indeed swim. That being said, she went and swam.

Pause. I never knew Susan Tse was a good swimmer so that was a nice to know. What is not nice to know though is however how the scriptwriters make everyone know each other for convenience sake.

Continue. We finally got to know that Agatha was let out and she has an argument with Detective George. Agatha was done with Detective George and she quit and left. Next minute Sitou Sir approaches Jenny and nags her again for what happened 18 months ago. Jenny pulls him away and Sitou Sir jumps to the water with Jenny. Jenny got to see Sitou Sir's arm and noticed that the scar was not there, therefore meaning the guy she had sex with was not Sitou Sir.

Nik thought of two possible explanations. One is that the fake Sitou Sir was just someone who looked like him but wasn't. The second one was that it must have been his twin brother that Sitou Sir was not aware of. Sitou Sir said the likelihood of first theory is basically zero so must be twin brother. They think of a plan to get his parents to tell him if he has a twin brother.

Nik also asks Sitou Sir if he can suddenly feel pain in his body and said it might be because his twin brother is experiencing pain. Sitou Sir confessed that he does sometimes feel pains in his arm (probably when the fake Sitou Sir got a cut in his arm) and sometimes headaches. Later on we have two separate scenes of Nik and Sitou Sir having headaches and from then it was confirmed that Nik is indeed the twin brother.

Pause. Ok let's assume Nik is indeed the twin brother. Why how did his sound suddenly change to a different one? Voice surgery? How come he is now taller all of a sudden. Physically he doesn't convince me as the twin brother of Sitou even with plastic surgery excuse. Ignoring all of these though, why did Nik not tell Sitou that he is the twin brother. He knew the whole time and just observed. I am now curious as to what Nik is really up to and what did he do in the last 18 months and why did he make a fire and just left, leaving all the trouble for Sitou Sir when he would of know he would of potentially gone into jail. Why did he tell Jenny that he was a policeman? That implies Nik knew Sitou Sir's existence and that deliberately used his identity as a policeman. Do you remember he said before to Jenny, "I am letting you investigate this because it's not convenient for the CIB to do it". That means he even knew Sitou Sir is in the CIB department. Why Nik, why???

We will find out soon.

Continue. Nik went to Sitou Sir's house to have dinner with them and asks Sitou's parents (also his parents) if they knew his birth details. They give him Sitou's details and then Nik guided them to talk about a possible twin brother and the mother cried. The parents finally let out the truth and said that the twin brother died. They were in so much sorrow that they decided to keep the secret from Sitou Sir.

Sitou Sir knew that the twin brother was still alive so he thought about visiting the mid-wife. Along with Nik they tried to find her and eventually just bumped into her. (How convenient again). Mid-wife tried to avoid Jenny, Sitou and Nik but she was stopped by them and then eventually confessed that she sold the twin brother away to another person and showed Sitou's mom another dead baby. She cried and said, "I regret it to this day. I should have never sold your twin brother to someone." The camera shows Nik's face who is looking quite angry and pissed off but not in an obvious way.

End. I am liking this series at the moment but for some reason I am not addicted to this series as I thought I would be. All of my HK friends have told me they are loving this series but for some reason I am not. Ruco, Kevin and Tavia are all doing fine but maybe it's the story that is not appealing to me at the moment. I didn't get the lame misunderstanding between the wife and husband. I am still disappointed that Tavia doesn't have much to do in the series. This series lacks cohesiveness and cohesion and the only thing that is keeping me interested and anticipated is Ruco and Kevin reuniting.

Will probably talk more when I get to see episode 5.

TVB Eye in the Sky Episode Thoughts (Episode 3)

Eye in the Sky (Episode 3)

I liked episode three. Here’s a recap of what happened:

First Sitou Sir introduces Fate Fan and Nik (Ruco) to the security colleagues and shows the two around. Sitou Sir tells the two of the things they need to be aware of as a security guard and Fate Fan funnily said, “Why so serious? We’re security guards not anti-terror officers”.

Moving on Nik and Fate notice Teacher Zhu and the senior manager cooking food. They were thinking “Why do these two need to do these things themselves” and the manager beside them say it’s for the big boss – the boss of the hotel. Nik follows Mrs Zhu carrying the food to the hotel boss’s room. In order to get in the room, Mrs Zhu needs to go through a fingerprint and eye security process. Before Nik could have a look at the security process, SItou Sir comes and tells him that he shouldn’t be swapping roles with Fate Fan.

Pause. Why is Nik so curious about the big boss? Every time Nik is up to something there’s always the suspicious background music and we have yet to know what he wants to know. On the other hand Fate Fan is pretty funny as a selfish, lazy and flirtatious person. He likes to take advantage of others (Nik) and does not shut his mouth. Jonathan Cheung is doing a decent job here.

Continue. Back to the detective agency, Detective George assigns Jenny (Tavia) and Agatha (Samantha) to spy on his rich businessman. Agatha fails to take any clear photos of him since the camera lens were all blurry. Whilst Agatha was complaining about the outdated spying equipment that they have, Jenny noticed that someone was taking photos of them. It turns out it was this foreign photographer with a nice white car. He said, “Sorry I was trying to take photos of the beautiful scenery but didn’t know that there’s also beautiful girls in here. Sorry I couldn’t control myself. Your camera is also very classic. I like it.”

Pause. A lot of flirty characters in this series. From the fake Sitou Sir to Fate Fan to Tony Hung (yet to catch his name). The scriptwriter of this series must know a lot of pickup lines for sure.

Continue. Sitou Sir was trying to look for Jenny at the shopping mall (the mall they met the other day) but no success and then goes to a noodle store for lunch. He bumps onto Nik coincidently and then they order the same noodle dish. They both try to get the same sauce. Nik asks “Can I ask you a question please?” and Sitou Sir says, “You already opened your mouth. Go ask”. Nike then asks why don’t you become a police officer, you’re already proven innocent”. Sitou replies, “I’ve said it a couple of time before. The responsibility of a security guard is to also respect the privacy of others”.

Pause. It seems like an insignificant scene but it suggests quite a lot of things. First this scene showed Sitou Sir and Nik having similar or identical interests in terms of eating – making the theory of them as twin brothers more reasonable. But if they are twin brothers and Nik was the fake Sitou Sir who made love with Jenny, why did his voice suddenly change? Did he get a lot of nutrition when he was out of HK that he now is taller than the real Sitou? It doesn’t look convincing if they are twin brothers because plastic surgery is not a good enough excuse – but TVB likes to defy logic anyway. Also, we get to know here that Nik is quite a nosy person. Perhaps he is curious as to why Sitou Sir is so tempted to investigate the case when it’s already proved his not guilty. This could mean that Nik was the fake Sitou Sir and he is worried if Sitou Sir keeps on looking for evidence he would eventually find out it’s him.

Continue. Back to the detective agency there’s a case where a guy is suspecting his wife is cheating on him. Jenny and Agatha spy on the wife and they follow her all the way to the service apartment where Nik and Sitou works (how convenient). It turns out that Tai Lun – Terry (Tony Hung) is also planning to stay in the service apartment. He flirts with the receptionist, “Do you know that you have a sweet smile? Seeing how sweet you are I feel dizzy? Can I have the chocolate?” The chocolate was used by Fate Fan before to flirt with the receptionist where he used a funny pickup line, “Can I have the chocolate? I want to know whether the chocolate is sweeter or you”. Anyway Fate Fan saw Terry trying to flirt with the receptionist and tells him off for taking photos.

Pause. Everyone has good pick-up lines.

Continue. Jumping ahead to more memorable scenes there’s Sitou Sir at a restaurant. Sitou Sir sees Kam Kong a.k.a the big gangster and then interrogates him at toilet, saying “Over one year ago who went and burned all your supplies?” and before Kam Kong could say a word this guy shot him on the head. Kam Kong was dead and the masked guy left.
Pretty sure that was Nik.
Sitou Sir realises that Jenny is the only left that could help him find evidence to prove he is innocent. Nik comes in the room where Madam Wong (Lin Xia Wei) and Sitou Sir were discussing about Jenny all of a sudden and offers help to find her. They go to the shopping mall together and still no hope. It was late and Sitou says “it’s late let’s leave. Nik asks “Where are you heading” and then Sitou Sir offers him a lift back home. In the car ride Nik all of a sudden says he needs to take a poo and Sitou Sir says “the only toilet nearby is at my home”. They arrive at Sitou Sir’s home and then Nik hurries to the toilet while Sitou’s mum asked, “Who the hell is he? How rude to not even say hi”. By the time Nik comes out he recognises that Sitou Sir’s mum is a TV celebrity chef and Nik non-stop compliments her.

Pause. Sitou Sir’s mum is a funny person as well .She is loud-mouthed, direct and picky.

Continue. Sitou Sir’s parents invite Nik for dinner and then during dinner Sitou parents reveal more about Sitou. “This is the first time that Sitou has ever brought anyone back home. He usually doesn’t have much friends or talk much about work. Don’t tell me you guys  are together? (thinking Sitou is bringing a boyfriend) and obviously Sitou and Nik said no. Sitou’s parents ask about Nik’s family and Nik said he an orphan and no mum or dad.

Pause. I wonder if Sitou’s parents are also the parents for Nik. Very confused now.

Continue. Anyway whilst playing Ping Pong Sitou Sir and Nik talk about finding Jenny. Nik this time said “Don’t worry if we have the will power we will eventually find that Jenny”. Next day Jenny and Detective George check in at the hotel that Sitou Sir and Nik were working (so they can “further deeply” investigate the cheating wife) and surprise, surprise, they see Sitou Sir and Nik.

End. Good episode where there is some development in the story. We now get to see Sitiou Sir and Nik become from colleagues to friends. In the last episode NIk was portrayed as some-one observant, honest and caring but in here I just see him as nosy, shifty and mysterious. He is curious about everything and now making me curious on why he is curious. Confusing.

Performance-wise, Kevin Cheng is doing a good job. Sitou Sir is consistently a professional, cool and quiet person his convinced me with minimal facial expressions and a cool-sounding speaking tone. Ruco on the other hand no complaints from me – also doing a good job. No comment for everyone else.

This series is still interesting but I want the story to move faster. I want Sitou Sir to move away from the case and return to his position as a police officer. We will get there eventually.

TVB Eye in the Sky Episode Thoughts (Episode 2)

This episode wasn't as eventful as episode 1 but nevertheless still an enjoyable episode with the appearance of Ruco Chan.

First scene was Sitou Sir and Scarlett (portrayed by Lin Xia Wei) who went to the crime scene and tried to find evidence to prove that Sitou Sir was innocent as in he didn't cause a fire and hurt a security guard. Frankly I couldn't remember much from this scene so let's jump ahead to the trial court scene.

Inside the court room, there enters Jenny (Tavia Yeung) along with her detective buddy to see if Sitou Sir would be found guilty or not. First witness from the prosecution was Fan Fei (the security guard who got injured).

Pause. Can you see the pattern of the Fan something from Jonathan Cheung's role? I find this rather quirky and funny. From Fan Gan in TVB's Three Kingdom to other Fans in other series (Coffee Cat Mama, etc).

Continue. Everything seems to point to Sitou Sir has guilty (since security guard said he was sure that it was him who tried to create a fire and then Sitou Sir himself proclaimed he has no alibi). All of a sudden we have Cecilia (who was a former actress) (portrayed by Jade Leung) being a witness to prove Sitou Sir innocent. This was basically what she said: "I can prove Sitou Sir innocent. The other night he came over to my house and stayed there for the night. Sitou said he has no alibi because he wants to protect my image and reputation. The truth was I found out that my husband cheated on me and I became depressed. Sad and lonely, I got addicted to drugs and it was Sitou Sir who tried all methods to stop me from taking drugs - such as threatening drug dealers to not offer her drugs. The three hundred thousand cash was actually Sitou Sir helping me to give money to the mistress and tell her to stay away from my husband." With Cecilia's account of the story, it influenced the jury decision of 5 over 2 favouring him to be held not guilty.

Pause. Sitou Sir is now even a selfless and considerate person. He cares about his old classmate (Cecilia) and would rather protect her image than protect him away from jail. Kevin Cheng made the right expression with the "no don't say it" look he gave to Cecilia but she said it anyway. Jade Leung was also competent. She convinced me as somebody looking like a celebrity but saddened with life.

Moving on, Denise (sorry I meant Madam Chik - that actress reminded me of Denise from Black Heart White Soul because she looks the same and speaks the same tone) informed Sitou Sir to be transferred to another police department since it is too sensitive for him to stay in CIB. Sitou Sir said no I will not transfer and then Madam Chik said "It's better for you to go to a new environment" and then Sitou Sir said "Fine. I quit" and off he leaves the room. Madam Chik comes out and says "Why are you quitting? It's not like you're leaving us forever. We will eventually get you back to the CIB department". Sitou Sir then said, "Who trusts me that I am innocent? Even though I was found to be not guilty everyone still thinks it was me. I will come back once I find evidence that I am not guilty. I will be back." and off he goes.

Serious stuff aside and there we have Detective George trying to find an ad and he gets grumpy how everyone is not focused. Jenny drops the mic on his head (it was funny) and everyone else was part of the clip when they're not supposed to as Detective George said, "I want everyone to know me so I can be part of the ad, but you guys will need to be in detective operations so no good to get public exposure".

Pause. Detective George is still the funniest character so far. I laughed when he yelled at Samantha Ko and the detective employee (still couldn't catch their names), "Why didn't you get a shot of all the Benz cars? I want it to be seem like I own all of those cars. Such a 'benz brake'" - which phonetically sounds like "办事不力- can't do anything well" and I laughed.

With the ad filming a failure they head off to Yumcha and someone meets Detective George. Detective George's friend recommends his son to date Jenny but Jenny rejected him and kissed Samantha Ko on the lips and says. "No I am a lesbian I don't like guys, whether fat, skinny, short or whatever" and leaves off. As Jenny walks around the streets she sees Sitou Sir and tries to avoid him since she thinks she looks scruffy. As she finds him again in the lift Jenny stares at him and says, "No long no see". Sitou Sir then says, "Have we met?" and Jenny slaps him - feeling disgusted how someone she made love with 18 months again didn't even recognise her.

Pause. Another rather funny scene but this means something shocking. Does that mean that the "Sitou Sir" she made love with was actually the twin brother and not the real Sitou Sir?????????? That is of course unless Sitou Sir actually has poor memory skills but no I think it was the twin brother.  So does that mean fake Sitou Sir is the flirtatious mean and the real Sitou is the so-so-ku one? Confusing indeed.

Anyway when Jenny slapped Sitou Sir the people in the lift reacted "Did he sexually harass you" and Sitou Sir said "Of course not, just look at the CCTV if you don't believe me". Next minute Ruco Chan sees a guy up-skirting a girl and yells "Hey someone's up-skirting, you stay there!" and along with Sitou Sir they come running for the creep. Like always, Sitou Sir catches the guy easily.

Pause. There was a very funny line in this scene where a person from the lift said, "A creep catching a creep" (referring to Sitou Sir who they thought sexually harassed Jenny).

Anyway we get to see that after 18 months Sitou Sir is now a security manager at a high class hotel. He watches in CCTV when a customer asks "Do you guys allow pets to stay in the hotel?" and the hotel operating manager said "Yes we do". Then the hotel guests then goes great and says "Can you guys also look after my pet? I want someone to look after my Sisi" and the operation manager goes "Yes we can take care of animals for you". But she yells when she finds out it was a snake! Sitou Sir diffuses the situation by analysing the pet snake and saying "although by the looks of it it seems to be poisonous, it's just a harmless snake".

Pause. Sitou Sir so pro.

Continue. All seems well when suddenly hotel guests complain about someone (or something) urinating in the swimming pool area. After analysing the CCTV, they saw a suspicious lady carrying a pet dog leaving the pool and then people realise there is urine, suspecting that it is her dog that urinated in the pool. Sitou Sir however says, "Just because she left the pool with a dog doesn't mean the truth is that her dog urinated. We can't let this be evidence and kick her out" but a security guard urges him to kick her out.

This time Sitou sets up a trap for the security guard where he spills urine with a water gun to frame the hotel guest for insulting him. The security guard gets caught and he gets fired.

Pause. Sitou Sir is so so pro. Before it seems like there's nobody that he can't catch and now this time there's nothing he can't solve. The only thing of course is that he can't find evidence to prove himself as innocent.

Continue. With the security guard hired it conveniently leads to an application process for applicants wanting to be security guards, with Ruco Chan and Fan Fei as the applicants. Fan Fei tries to bribe the hotel boss or senior manager by giving him a present hoping he can be hired as a security guard while Ruco? He uses his observant skills to catch someone trying to steal a phone from someone when it was really a test by Sitou Sir to see who has good skills to become a security guard. The hotel manager is unconvinced Ruco is a good fit and urges for round two.

Round two - the amazing race. The first two persons who arrive within 30 minutes and walks around 48 levels of stairs will get the job. Ruco Chan was the fast and could of made it in 15 minutes but Fan Fei tricked him by pretending to be injured. Ruco rushed to help him and piggy backed him until around level 45. Fan Fei says "ok I'm good now" and gets there faster than Ruco.

Pause. How dumb for Fan Fei to do that. They said that the first "two" people get the job. If he got Ruco to piggy back him then others could of caught up quickly. Why can't you just leave Ruco to get there first and then be the second one? Doesn't make much sense.

As always, Sitou Sir could tell that Ruco came second only because of helping Fan Fei and he asked, "Why did you not report him for faking an injury?" and then Ruco asked a question, "Has someone ever asked you for money? I would always give people money when they ask for it. This is because if I get lied I only lose a few bucks, but when someone really needs the money I can help them. The benefits over-weigh the costs."

End. Not a bad episode because we finally get to see Ruco who never disappoints when it comes to acting. In all series he acts out a role without seeming like he tried hard to act the but then Kevin Cheng seems like he tried hard to act in the role and his acting is far from perfect. In this episode Tavia doesn't have much to do so no comment. So far I find Sitou Sir and Ruco Chan (need to catch his name) both considerate, both observant and both caring people. Could it mean that Ruco Chan is actually the twin brother (as said by some netizens)? Maybe.

TVB Eye in the Sky Episode Thoughts (Episode 1)

Welcome to my episode thoughts for the new TVB series, Eye in the Sky. Featuring one of my favourite actors and actresses such as Tavia, Kevin and Ruco, I will be closely following this series for the interesting plot. Did I like the first episode? Frankly I have very high expectations for this series and so far I like this series, but that's all for now.

This series has an Amy Wong production type of feel (but it's a Foon Chun Ciu production). As soon as I watched the opening credits which showed brothers (Kevin and Ruco) "from friends to foe" and the style of the opening credits reminded me of "Brother's Keepers".

Anyway first scene showed Kevin Cheng (I will refer to him as Sitou Sir from now) standing in front of his subordinates and facing the big screen of CCTV cameras installed in the streets of HK. Without looking back he pointed his finger to the subordinate behind him who was yawning and then told the guy off on the right who was on his phone. He said "Can we please be more focused".

Meanwhile we have Jenny (portrayed by Tavia Yeung) and Samantha Ko (couldn't catch her name) walking in the streets and Jenny realises something is wrong. Well more like multiple things were wrong. One, the first of the newspaper stall had a different staff. Two, there were three salespeople in the stall the other day but today there are only two and three, the girl wore a hat that belonged to the other guy (implying they are together or something). The two of the girls decided to get nosy and approached the newspaper stall guy (who of course was the police) and boy did they annoy the hell out of everyone and could of potentially jeopardised the operation itself.

Pause. I like Tavia in here as the bubbly Jenny. This is one of the first time perhaps that I've seen a main character with great photographic memory. Even though she basically can realise everything, she is still dumb and clueless of the truth. From a sassy assassin to a clueless lady, which character do I still prefer? Frankly, I still want Tavia to be an assassin.

There comes Madam Chik who carries lunch for everyone and next minute someone notices something wrong in the CCTV. Camera zoomed in and there we see a guy proposing to a girl. What was strange was that a couple in the crowd was not looking at the proposal but instead looking at the officer marking the roll for the jewellery store. Subsequently Sitou then suspected that there were the likely thieves who are about to rob a jewellery store and told everyone to be on standby.

Action time. The thief couple was caught red-handed. Sitou Sir notices something strange through the CCTV of a guy walking towards the jewellery store when the crowd is running away from the scene and shouts out to his co-workers "Watch your back! Someone armed is behind you!".

Pause. This Sitou Sir is a very smart dude. He stands out because his observant, logical and analytical. He knows when something is urgent and will not hesitate to help.

Continue. The mysterious man that Sitou Sir was aware then suddenly fires shots to the police officers and everyone dodges. This then gives an opportunity for the thief couple to escape in a car along with the armed gunman. The man of the thief couple then got shot from one of the cops but the other two drive away from the scene. This was when the action started to become more exciting where Sitou Sir demanded the traffic lights to be red so they can stop the car. Obviously the car took a u-turn but then it crashed with another car and off they go running. After all sorts of obstacles the girl got caught but the armed guy was still running and he bumped on Jenny and her friend. Scared as hell, their reaction was funny with "Ah!!! I don't know you... We didn't see anything". Then comes the hero of the day; Sitou Sir who hits the armed guy with a motorbike and casually arrests him.

Pause. It just seems like no-one is hard enough for Sitou Sir to catch. I like the fact how he just casually pulled out his phone and played Sudoku while waiting for the cops to come. Just So-so-kool.

Skipping ahead, let's jump to the bit where Sitou Sir visits the detective agency. As Sitou Sir came inside we have Jenny's father George who is the owner of the agency. Sitou wanted to leave when he saw that whilst George was being interview he was bragging about how himself and questioning whether he has any detective skills. As he was about to leave, there comes Jenny who convinced him to stay and accepted his request to spy on a gangster.

Pause. Quite a funny scene when Sitou Sir was being a flirt to Jenny. In the conversation that they had Jenny asked "Why are you getting us to spy on someone. Can't the CIB just do it?" and Sitou Sir replied "Because there is no-one good looking enough to do the job and Jenny was blushing. And when Jenny asked, "What's your name by the way, mm, it's part of the application process so I need to know" and Sitou Sir said, "Well if your name is Jenny, then my name is Johnny". I found that conversation very funny indeed and Sitou Sir is now a cool flirt.

Jumping to more memorable scenes again we have Jenny spying on the gangster and following his agenda with his Korean girlfriend. I somehow wasn't convinced in the scene that Jenny was a detective. Her camera was pretty massive and she was taking so many photos. It looked very obvious and to me I was unconvinced of Jenny's character as a competent detective. Of course Jenny eventually got busted one of the gangsters who noticed her taking so many photos or following them in an obvious way. What was funny though was when Father George came to the rescue along with his detective employee where George acted as a police checking the body of his employee disguised as a criminal and shooed the gangster away. That George is quickly becoming one of my favourite character in the episode or in the series as he is a rather streetsmart, shifty, wise and knowledgeable detective.

What was even more funny though was when Jenny dreamed of her so-called "grand-plan" to take the big gangster's phone and hack into it and then return it back. So her plan was to dress up as an attractive Korean girl where the gangster portrayed by Kam Kong would invite her to the table. After some flirting and chit-chatting Jenny would take his phone that was identical to her phone and then let the detective employee hack into the phone and then go ops sorry got the wrong phone and give it back.

Obviously everything didn't go according to plan when Jenny noticed no one cared of her big entrance. Jenny was even shocked to know that Kam Kong changed his phone and now had a shiny white phone. No-one invited her to the table and she had to ask them for a seat but they say "sit somewhere else" and she made an excuse "Nah there too cold". When Kam Kong noticed Jenny he said "Woo so hot" but was actually referring to his girlfriends and not Jenny. With nothing going to plan Jenny trip the waiter and spilled water to their table and then stole the phone in the chaos. But as she walked towards the door the "grrrrr" ringtone went off and they came chasing after.

Pause. A very very very funny scene. Tavia here made the right expressions of "shit" and "damn it". Audiences would find her a very likeable character if she continues to be cute and funny (too bad the serious drama may start soon).

Continue. Jenny gave her phone to the detective employee and he managed to successfully hack into it. Jenny then retrieved the phone back and then tried to give the phone back to the gangsters and then run away but she was trapped by Kam Kong and the other gangsters. Thankfully Sitou Sir came in time to rescue Jenny before she would be somewhat reluctantly raped by the gangsters.

Pause. Sitou Sir comes to the rescue all the time. It seems like whilst Jenny has good memory, she doesn't have good skills to escape out of difficult situations. I found it too convenient for Sitou Sir to be everywhere for Jenny.

Continue. Jenny hops on Sitou Sir's motorbike and they drive away but one of the gangsters slightly gives his arm a cut. Back at the detective agency Jenny bandages his injury and they lock eyes at each other and you guess it. Sex. The first episode hasn't even ended yet and they already have a sexual encounter.

Back to some serious stuff. The next day Sitou Sir is approached by his co-workers and they suspect him of arson. Madam Chik shows Sitou Sir a CCTV clip of him (actually some-one who looked like him) attempting to cause a fire. There was a line that Madam Chik said that was particularly memorable:

"You tell me to trust the Sky in the Eye (CCTVs), because you say CCTVs are objective in nature and they show what is happening. What this clip showed happening was a person with the same shoes as you and the same looks as you trying to cause a fire. How do you explain this?"

Sitou Sir insists his innocence and then gets released from bail. Sitou Sir walks out and as he walks there is someone near him walking in the other direction and guess what? He looked exactly like Sitou Sir.

End. I am suspecting that it is his twin brother (well obviously it is). Why did his twin brother try to cause a fire and how can Sitou Sir prove his innocence? We shall know in episode 2.
Plot-wise not much comment expect I hope they don't overuse the "twin-brothers" storyline. The CCTV theme though is however very refreshing for me and this episode raises the question "Can we trust CCTV?".

So far Kevin Cheng is doing fine in this series as someone cool, professional and flirtatious. I find his character as Sitou intriguing because it seems like he holds a lot of secrets that we have yet to find out what they are. Yes he looks much older but that's because we haven't seen him for years but he has a cool hairstyle.

I am however disappointed that Tavia Yeung didn't get to portray her original role as an assassin from the original presentation clip. Other than that I am not that disappointed since she still has a quite interesting role as someone with photographic memory although quite clueless. Her character is also quite funny unintentionally funny and yet bubbly. Tavia displays these characteristics very well so far and so far she is giving a promising start.

Like some netizens have noticed, Tavia Yeung's face looks different again - this time not so much the nose but her cheeks and face in general. Whether she used botox or whatever I don't care as long as she knows what's she doing, after all it's her face.

So far no comment for Lin Xia Wei and others.

We have yet to see Ruco but I know he will appear soon and he will probably get as much screen-time as Kevin so don't worry fans.

As you all can tell I am inexperienced with episode thoughts so do not hesitate to tell me how I can improve. Also please forgive my grammar mistakes everywhere because I don't take much time proofreading and editing my episode thoughts!
